I agree on the B-2's. No one is even trying to justify their use. Two possibilities come to mind. To let folks know that we can project them from home soil to anyplace on the globe on a somewhat continuous basis. Or, that they have some weapon that is not yet implemented on other aircraft. Can't imagine what that would be.

The close support activity would look heavier to an observer on the ground because the target area would be a lot larger than for the carefully targeted heavy bombs of the early phases.
