The WTC terrorists were intentionally, deliberately targeting completely innocent civilians who had done nothing to them whatsoever except live and work in America. This was not a military target. It was purely and intentionally a civilian target, chosen to maximize the deaths of innocent people.
Even in the case of Pearl Harbor, it can be said that the Japanese attacked a legitimate military target- -the main US naval base in the Pacific. And they identified themselves with that meatball on the wings. This is considerably more than can be said for the cowardly bin Laden.

I don't think anybody has yet made a legitimate claim that the US has intentionally targeted purely civilian targets. If so, I have missed it. In fact, the opposite seems to be true -- I have heard interviewes with air force flyers indicating that they are putting their lives at greater risk because of rules of engagement that rquire them to minimize civilian casualties.
Nobody in the US government or military has suggested that we kill any Afghanis we can find. That is PRECISELY what bin Laden wants with respect to Americans. He has said so.

How is it that we are dirty bastards for accidentally killing a few Afghani civilians and they are the shining white knights for killing 6000 American civilians? What am I missing? I just don't get it.

Thanks for the support, Chris. And you too Gao, if you read this. On this thread I was beginning to feel like I was the only voice of what I considered reason.
