So I'm bound by the law and I can't violate the law in the execution of them. That doesn't make accountable for some rights, it makes me accountable for my actions. There are certain types of Constitutionally unprotected speech and those are excluded : like incite to riot, fighting words, slander, and libel. FYI, there are different standards for a public figure which is why in a political campaign you can call your opponent a 'snake and rat'.

As for your example, if the people elect Pat Robertson as President, maybe we are so far down the sh!t hole, that the Constitution really won't matter anymore because the Right-wing nut-jobs have the helm.

Help me understand this accountability of these people who voted him in - how exactly does this work? This is a free country and the people of this country could vote in other people who got rid of the Constitution. That would be Constitutional, whether you like it or not. Do you want to be accountable if you oppose that?

Do we round these people up because we have surveillance in the polls to ensure that they are accountable? It's been done.
