against the Falklands War

Well, I was not enthusiastic about the Falklands war myself. I mean... we could have given every occupant on those islands and every sheep several million dollars each to upstakes and relocate and still saved a lot of money. Never mind the loss in blood. Not only ours but Argentina's too....terrible losses.

Mind you, ... being bullied by Argentina and Spain changed my mind a bit.

What was really made me feel sad is that Britain could have gained something by it. Declared a 200 mile fishing limit exclusion zone, and allowed our fishing fleets access. Didn't happen and we have lots of extra bills to pay with taxes keeping those Islands "protected". As if we really have any right to them anyway.

I see the war on Afghanistan, "the base", OBL, very much as just as necessary as the Normandy landings...Take that beach. Otherwise there will be truely hell to pay.
