I was around in 1980. John Hinckley did not get the idea that shooting Reagan would make him a hero out of thin air. Maybe you had to be in an academic environment to hear how vicious people could be, but I doubt it. And the Democrats did not hesitate to use the Independent Prosecutor, either. Clinton reaped what the Democrats had sown in the 80s......
