One might wonder if Shahak was merely a psychotic crank, or whether he was handsomely paid for his "opinions." As he could not have been writing for a Jewish audience (who would see through him immediately), who was he writing for???

Werner Cohen? I can hardly imagine a less credible source. He is the same guy who ran the ridiculous smear campaign on Edward Said, and ended up grasping for air. His case against Shahak is similiarly empty. It ends up amounting to "Israel Shahak is lying". He actually states this, with (of course) absolutely no citation.

As for Cobalt, well, perhaps you have found a less credible source. Remember this part of her "nice summary"?

which isn't too surprising when you consider the sources, unfortunately. Alexander Cockburn, Noam Chomsky, and Christopher Hitchens are admitted Communists.

Oh my god! They are Communists! LOL!
