Two thoughts from the conference call:

* No talk of returning to profitability.

* With AMD able to satisfy more than 1/3 of the PC processor market with just one fab at the end of next year (50 million units), and with intel with many 300 mm fabs, there will be a huge over-capacity problem. Seems to me that processors may become a commodity like DRAM is now. With out a significant value-added competitive advantage (ie Hammer), processors may have to be sold near cost for set top boxes, information appliances, and low cost PCs.
