CJ,

re: Think about it for a moment. Consoles, webpads, PDAs and set top boxes are almost totally non-x86. There is no compelling reason for them to be, and quite a few reasons for them not to be. Yes, Intel does make the StrongARM and XScale processors which are used in some of those markets, but even the PDA market is dominated by the DragonBall processors. If you include these, then why don't you include all of the other embedded applications? They are processors too. Of course, if you did, you might find someone like Microchip with the largest market share. But their ASP is closer to a $1...

Is the microprocessor for the X-box more similar to a processor for a PDA, or a processor for a PC?

re: You need to know a bit more about these things before you spout off like that.

I understand that, as an AMD investor, you envy the X-box business. Since AMD doesn't make an XScale or DragonBall type processor, they were not even considered for the X-box business, right?

John

Advanced Micro Posts 3rd-Quarter Loss

"``We feel that when the upturn comes, we're going to kick ass,'' Sanders
said on a conference call.

Overall, AMD said it expects total company sales to be flat to ``high
single-digit percentage growth'' in the fourth quarter.

``Revenues in this range would be insufficient to offset the current
level of expenses, and therefore the company currently expects to
report an operating loss in the fourth quarter,'' the company said
in a statement.

Well Jerry, It won't be in Q4 ... Hahaha
