And some good news for dabum and kb, and I imagine others here as well--I'm going off this board. The bad news I guess from your perspective is that it's for a week long vacation, fishing for steelhead on one of the rivers of the great Northwest. So you can do all the chest thumping you want, but you might do a little reflecting about your thread description. Because whatever you are up to here, tolerance and civility ain't it. Cheers.

Steeliejim: You are utterly wrong about private messages. What you did is the cyberspace analog of sending a personal letter to the newspaper for publication without the sender's consent. You seem to be otherwise ethical so I assume you just don't realize this is an important aspect of "netiquette." There's got to be an internet Miss Manners, but I can't point you to her. Just ask SI. you were the one who misused the purpose of PM's. I'm not going to say anything to you in private that I'm unwilling to say in public, and if you pull the bs you did in another PM, I'll do the same thing again. P.S. Let us all praise private messages for angry or accusatory political posts. When people get really ticked and need to vent, PMs "take it outside" the thread and help us keep the postings from degenerating into the sort of mess that has killed other good threads.
