By the way Flap most conservatives I know feel the same way about Carter. They liked him as a person. When Reagan beat out Carter I felt sorry for Jimmy Carter. Till this day I think that he had the wrong ideas but that he was a kind and decent man. One reason that so many conservatives despised Clinton was because he presided over all these rules that he shoved down everybody's throat and then proceeded to break all his own rules with impunity. It left a rotten taste.

Flapjack, re: What goes 'round comes 'round Actually, I believe that Clinton's problems were payback for Nixon's treatment. When Democrats look at Clinton, I guess they saw the reflection of JFK. The Republicans probably took one look at Clinton and saw Nixon; two smart, pragmatic, flawed and polarizing men. If nothing else, Hill and Bill on 60Minutes, probably had Republicans screaming in their chairs Checkers! Checkers!. To take advantage of the situation, and go on a fishing expedition - Trolling for something impeachable is a no brainer. Of course the smart thing, is that Clinton never gave Starr any audio tapes (which he is now using, I've read, for his book).
