I don't remember the U.N. having any problem with Jordan's annexation of the West Bank in 1948. Your sentence should read "Conquest, whether aggressive or defensive, does not confer title...if you're Israel. If you're not Israel, we'll either recognize it or ignore it." The U.N. has not condemned the Chinese annexation of the Tibetan Autonomous Region (oh, they occasionally tell the Chinese to be nice to the Tibetans) or the Syrian occupation of Lebanon.

Thanks for reminding us of the days when the UN had nothing to do but pass anti-Israel resolutions.
