Let's get back to some basics here: Suppose that this evening the Taliban announced they would turn over bin Laden and associates and shut down any and all terrorist training camps and organizations.

What do you think would happen? What would the US do?

I think the bombing would stop immediately. Any planes in the air would be recalled. The US would, I'm sure, want inspection rights to verify compliance. But Afghanistan would be off the hit list.

Now considering what was done to us, I consider the US position (wanting al-Qaeda members turned over and training stopped) reasonable. What do you think?
