BMW, >according to the roadmaps at MPF, the C5Y is set for 2003. It won't even be fully .10u, but a combination of .13u and .10u transistors from a TSMC hybrid process. They are far behind in clock speed, far behind in IPC, and they are not catching up any time soon. Just about the only advantage they still have is their extremely small die and power dissipation.

OK, so what is with Via wrt markets they expect to be successful in? Is it strictly in their own backyard?

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but one of the analysts calling into AMD's CC yesterday asked about Transmeta. Jerry quickly dismissed them, saying emphatically that their ONLY competition is Intel. Guess he doesn't think much of Via either, then.
