News readers/writers and their staff are allowed to publicly overreact and panic. Members of Congress and their staff are allowed to publicly overreact and panic. Only the public is not allowed to publicly overreact or panic. The funny thing is, no one I know is panicking, waiting in line for Cipro, buying gas masks, or irradiating their mail. In fact, almost no one I know is overreacting. I think the opinion leaders are the ones who need to take a tranquilizer and get some "quiet time." The rest of us are doing fine.
