To: bonnuss_in_austin who wrote (3368 ) 10/18/2001 4:43:29 PM From: elpolvo Respond to of 51746 bon- you and i have always had the same political and social equality goals. we just have different behavioral styles and philosophies with which we pursue them. open communication avenues created by mutual respect, giving and taking in a "win-win" atmosphere, personal intimacy, sharing a drink and some witty teases... these things are more important to me than fighting for my views because they are an example of the "end result" of my goals and a loyalty to my guiding principles. that's the way i "walk my talk". in the long run, this approach makes it possible for me to have some measure of success in encouraging and supporting evolutionary growth. closet, schmozet... my most important, guiding principle is a realization and acknowledgement of the interconnectedness and oneness of all that exists. for me, voicing personal, political, or social desires, views and goals are all subservient and secondary to that "big picture". i don't support and promote agendas that i don't believe in. but i support and nurture "people" who have agendas that are in competition with mine. to not do so would be a personal betrayal of my most important guiding principles. this works well for me. i applaud whatever works well for you. i've always been in awe of your ability to wake up every person within the sound of your voice and get them all to focus directly on you and what you are saying. that is "power". you have a gift. what you do with the power of that focused attention is important. i know you have good intentions, so i don't fear you when you walk in the room. you go grrrrl! you have my support as a valuable, important, living being on this planet. i'll tease you later, -bonstrosity's nemisis
