The anthrax scare is just that,, a panic that someone along with the media was able to keep going. Not a hell of a lot of damage. If there is a reason to use the big one a list is easily made. Just about any reason is good enough,, hell no additional reason is needed for a few... with a little thought more can be added..

The 911 is a sufficient case for the top brass to use small nukes to "smoke the villains flesh in their caves".
The Anthrax will compensate for the tricks that will be played in the open. I bet some pneumonia and dysentry to hit the Tals fighters in the coming days, and right where they are stationed, just as to test their fighting spirit. And this, if I am correct will begin before the ground war starts.
Now no one is going to tell us.

<< ... do you think we should use the atom bomb ? >>

I think that the US should develop the best damn international hit squads in the world, to go after all of the despots and terrorists, on a regular basis.

Member nations could include Israel, England, Canada, Austrialia, New Zealand, Spain, Kuwait, Netherlands and perhaps Costa Rico.

The hit squads motto would be "Take out the garbage", and would be strictly run by the CIA under the auspices of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Each week we could hear about the accidental death of some piece of garbage, like Saddamn, or Castro, or bin laden or arafat or mugabe.

Weaponry today is far more subtle and surgical in nature... I don't believe it would be necessary to use large scale nuclear weapons, we have many subtle and precise highly effective weapons that can be employed successfully without using the clumsy big old fashioned ones... it's not an issue of all or none here.....
