Unearned Revenue also went up by 235 million from last quarter. Very impressive!

What I like the most about the earnings report is that that like Intel, Microsoft also is taking a cautious approach to guidance for the future.

Intel had noted that 4th quarter looks normal (season)compared to past other years. However, they decided to set the guidance a little low to factor in "consumer confidence" although their "data points" indicated normal seasonal patterns.

Writing down investment losses not a big deal for this company. Their investments were not anything close to those of JDSU, Nortel, Dell, Cisco etc..

Ahead of Windows XP launch next week, this stock is a BUY (imho).
