what about roger waters? top 4 songwriter ever imho, lennon, dylan, and cohen the others...the top 40 shit that comes out these days is atrocious, limp bizkit is one of the worst bands I've ever heard.

Ig, I tend to gravitate toward the funny and both Kinky Friedman and Billy Joe Shaver write some great stuff. Though neither would be considered "new." Also, Leonard Cohen's newer stuff is still pretty good. "I've seen the future, it is murder." So, you just have to wish these old coots a long life.
