Dame, the cool weather is here also. I've already had my green fields planted and my Deer Stand has a new roof on it. I'm ready for Deer Season. I haven't shot one for a long time, I just feed them and watch them. The neighboring hunters hate me. The Deer come to my land and I just watch them. Last year we had a drought and the crops in this area didn't make and there were no acorns for them to eat. I put out five hundred pounds of corn a week to keep them healthy. It was funny, when the new deer would come in and wind me, they would blow and the regulars(usually 20-40) would raise their heads and look as if to say "it's only JA, don't be alarmed. The sad part, is that a lot of the new deer would be so scruffy looking, but after a week or so they would put on weight. This year will be different, we didn't have a drought and they had plenty to eat. I still will supplement their diets though, just to keep them healthy. JA@notmuchofahunter.com
