The petition was drawn out before our friend Iran started getting senti with group hugs.

Most of these Arab countries are tap dancing around their public opinion. I blame their respective govts for not taking the initiative of building the public opinions after Desert Storm. I mean how difficult could it have been to convince a buncha guys that US did defend their state from a madman ?

So methinks it might be a good opportunity to teach them some good lessons, collectively. The tales of arab brotherhood abound. Well, let them cherish that brotherhood in an oil embargo too <g>

Of course a lot more illustrious orators and original thinkers have said it better on the Petition Thread. Get it from the horses mouth...

The Russians will gladly sell us oil, I'm sure. They need the cash. And the US government and US oil companies would gladly sink in the cash to develop Central Asian and Caspian oil fields, Im doubly sure.
