That was obvious to me as soon as I heard about AC-130s in there. Spooky (the squadron that has the aerial gun ships) is operated by the Special Forces.These are for close-order ground support. If you were trying to take an urban area and were getting sniper fire from a building two blocks away, you call in Spooky and they mash it to bits.
