Yes, but we could then pick the best policies for the benefit of all citizens of Mid-North America.

I do not think anything would be lost at all. All accomplishment come as a result of individual effort. Everyone would be Americans who could still respect and celebrate their respective heritages.

The real benefit to the taxpayers would be savings from consolidation of governmental services. Hell, we could use the merger to rationalize the bloated bureaucracy in the U. S.

I agree with you that the merger between Canada and the U. S. will take some time to consummate. Also, let us cure the terrorist problem before devoting resources to the merger process.
