Are you and the others signing the petition committing to reducing your consumption of oil by the same percentage of oil provided by the Middle East?

I have been... I've been driving significantly less since Sept 11th.

But that's probably due to spending a lot of time in front of the TV monitoring event (being a news junkie.. :0).

How about you?

Hawk

I support the goal of stopping buying crude oil from countries who use the money to support terrorism. My personal goal is to consume less oil and less fuel oil - I am driving much less, and raised the thermostat on the heater and lowered it on the water heater.

I have written to oil companies telling them how I feel and asking them to sell petroleum products which are not derived from oil from the Middle EAst.

I have written to my congressmen telling them how I feel, and asking them to support the goals of energy independence for the US, and not supporting regimes which harbor and support terrorists, and especially not regimes which are outright hostile to the United States.

To the extent that US foreign policy is distorted by our dependence on these despotic regimes for energy, we must rethink these strategies and change our ways of doing things.
