Hal, I understand your point and agree with it; the state has to be very careful in the application of such powers. In Canada we aren't right wing at all, oddly enough the liberal left has more to do with this law. I'll post some links to the relevant decisions behind the law and the case I'm thinking of where it was used and you can decide if what we've done makes sense or not. No disagreement from me that its a very fine line to walk.
