mm, that happens every Halloween. Kids just shouldn't take anything that isn't packaged. And, even then, the parents should look at it before they eat it. But try telling it to a greedy glutton moppet or a lazy parent.

All right, a meta rumor -- a rumor of a rumor. Every year their is a tainted candy scare; this year will certainly be worse. I'd expect more problems with things like flour & sugar, though -- much more effective means to disseminate contaminants than via a candy factory. But nevertheless, with three trick-or-treaters at home, I will be looking over their candy as usual, not because of anthrax, but because of the "usual" psychos out there.

HSY reported earnings thursday and said everything looks okay so far, but 50% of their halloween candy sales occur the two weeks before halloween, so they'll have a better view of sales by next week.
