Thanks for clearing up my confusion, as to where you were coming from.

I do not think that a belief in God is necessary to have moral understanding......

Certainly not if it exists as an extrapolation from the human condition.

Is this "moral understanding" morally equivalent regardless of its source? Or do you intend some other meaning?
