there is a lot of discussion in the morningstar link i gave you on debate on ibonds or vanguard.

dont forget the little stuff:
yearly expense fees
12b fees
taxation
commissions
etc.

dont solely look at returns.

im not fully informed on the vanguard.
for ibonds, the rates will change after oct 31. i expect the rates to drop by 1-2% (which is a lot)

since the top of the bull mkt until now, the rates have dropped by 0.3
