I think it is a general expectation now that amd would not be profitable until mid or end of 2002. AMD is rated as a strong buy many regardless near term losses.

I have priced the system that we spoke of (p4-1800 with 512 rambus). The difference is ~ $250. That is 25% more for lesser of a system

Wanna: so given that Kumar receives the rating for most accurate AMD analyst, what do you think of him suggesting several more quarters of loss?

2Q02 appears to be the earliest AMD has a chance of regaining profitability. 1Q won't see enough .13&#181 volume to really matter and Intel will increase the pressure from above with their .13&#181 P4s. Providing AMD can actually get .13&#181 going on schedule and their rating scheme works, 2Q could be good.

The way I see it, Q4 this year will probably be fairly close to break-even, depending on what we see in terms of overall economic developments, but 1Q02&#133 I cannot imagine a (realistic) scenario where AMD breaks even.

Didn't Assholl Kumar was saying to wait for INTC at $15 before jumping in the stock?
