Isn't it great to finally have grown-ups with principles running our government?

Amen!

Bradley is an intellectual lummox. Heck, he's a lummox, period. His scholarship was akin Clinton's Rhodes, which was political. Neither was academic.

The 2000 Dem contest was between dumb - Bradley - an intellectual poseur and dumber - Gore - but dumber won because Dems always choose the most flagrant liar - witness the trailer trash tricksters who sealed the deal with "two liars for the price of one". Then dumber tried to steal the election through the now disgraced and reviled FL Supreme court, the all-Dem team that they are.

Back to your point that, clearly, the Dems have no one of Rumsfeld's caliber, and it shows. Take Biden. OK, he's a renown plagiarist who was disciplined at law school and who later stole Neil Kinnock's life as his own in a speech he lifted from the Brit Labor leader. Surely he thinks Americans forgot, beccause he's running for prez again.

Biden is scary even when he isn't saying something stupid, which is between breaths. You think that weird stuff on his head has caused brain damage? That growth was obviously meant to remain in his pants.

The sad part is that Biden would never have been elected if his wife and child hadn't been killed in a car accident shortly before the 1972 election. Shades of Grandma Carnahan in 2000.

On an upbeat note, I see that Californians look to do what they always do when they elect a Dem catastrophe as Guv, they look to fire Gray Davis next year:

California's Davis Sees Support Slump for '02 Run

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California Democratic Gov. Gray Davis (news - web sites), who saw his support plunge during the state's energy crisis, now trails former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan in a head-to-head matchup for the 2002 governor's race, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

Riordan, a Republican, has not formally declared for the 2002 gubernatorial race and has done little campaigning. Nevertheless, the Field Poll showed him edging Davis 45 percent to 42 percent in a general election.

The Field Poll found 50 percent of Californians were now inclined to dump Davis next year, versus 43 percent who want to re-elect him.

Most significantly, Riordan was shown ahead of Davis by 47 to 43 percent in Los Angeles County, traditionally a Democratic stronghold. Riordan, a political moderate, was the first Republican to win the Los Angeles mayor's office in 32 years. He served from 1993 to 2001.

Davis was elected by a wide margin in 1998 and logged strong support until May this year, when the state's energy crisis brought repeated blackouts and sharply higher power rates.

His ratings remained low, the Field Poll said, with 47 percent of registered voters disapproving of his job performance versus 41 percent approving of it....
