Q will surprise, I think. A penny or two over, IMO. In the meantime, looks like GSM is responsible for increased crime in London. Wouldn't happen with a CDMA phone. <<<Mobile Phones Fuel Jump in London Street Crime Updated: Fri, Oct 19 8:24 AM EDT LONDON (Reuters) - Thefts from mobile phone-obsessed teenagers were a major factor in a 31.4 percent rise in street crime in London in the last six months, according to police figures released on Thursday. In half of all street robberies in the capital a mobile phone was one of the items stolen and in a third of all robberies it was the only thing taken, according to Scotland Yard, London's police headquarters. Police said they were working with telephone companies to try to change mobile phone design and networks in order to make them less attractive to thieves. Officers would be visiting schools to give teenagers -- the main victims of mobile phone theft -- crime prevention advice and to tell them to mark their phones so they can be identified if they are stolen and recovered. "The street crime increase is a matter of real concern for us," said Deputy Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin. "Unfortunately there is no quick fix to the rise in offences. This year we have arrested 20 percent more street robbers than we did last year but this has not translated into a reduction in the number of offences being committed." Scotland Yard said it had however achieved some spectacular results" in operations against drugs, with a rise of 40 percent in the number of dealers in hard drugs arrested in the period between April and September this year. The number of people arrested for possessing knives and other weapons rose by 18 percent, but burglaries rose by only 2.5 percent.
