Re: "John L. Dagg was a great man who suffered many hardships."

Trials will happen but we persevere, and know ultimately, He is still in control, through it all, Keep Your eyes on Him. Isn't it neat to trust Him, and rely on Him?!! Westi

I just saw today's Stanley devotional:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.”
John 14:27
Living in Lasting Peace
Isaiah 26:3

Enjoying Christ’s perfect peace does not mean you’ll never feel the effects of the storms raging around you. But His peace is perfect because it is complete, adequate, and sufficient for anything you face.

There are three keys to having sustained peace. First, you must focus on God. Notice in today’s passage that perfect peace comes when your mind is stayed on God. You must discipline yourself to meditate on God’s presence and work in your life. When you spend your time concentrating on a problem, does it not grow bigger over time? In the same way, you will have a greater sense of God’s presence and provision as you stay your mind on Him.

Secondly, you must trust Him. You never have to worry about God being too late or insufficient. His timing and purposes are perfect; in fact, He uses your tribulations to reveal more of Himself to you. His Word is full of promises. Many of those promises involve granting you peace. Know that He will honor them.

Finally, you must meditate on His Word. Psalm 119:165 emphasizes that those who love God’s Word have great peace and nothing causes them to stumble. Your most precious possession is your Bible. Every believer should love God’s Word and should feast on it. If you love it, you’re going to believe what it says, and it’s going to guide and anchor your life.
