Terry, One song with James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley in it? What more can you ask for? My personal favorite is "Showdown at Big Sky." Kiss tomorrow goodbye. Another of the those Eve of Destruction type of songs, but upbeat enough tune to carry the depressing words. One of the last Band albums in vinyl was called, I believe, Northern Lights, Southern Cross. Some nice songs, like Jupiter Hollow. But for kick-ass Canadian, the song "Ring My Bell" is a great one. Lines like "Renegade woman loved me like there's no tomorrow, left to borrow." (Robertson seems to have a problem with the concept of tomorrow. <g>) And my favorite, "Bloodhounds comb the backstreets, With the mounties close behind, as for justice, you're gonna find, my ass across, that border line." And, if you want to hear a bit of anti-Canadian, you have to dig up Bob Gibson's "Box of Candy and a Piece of Fruit." But don't play it in front of those who do not like to hear certain words in public. It is about a time Gibson was arrested for drugs in Toronto, just before Xmas. And how the cons waited for the Salvation Army's visit and their gift of a box of candy and a piece of fruit. Very funny stuff.
