Perhaps an new air travel class can be created?? "Shackled Hand And Foot For The Entire Flight" Been done by the French when they deport illegal African aliens from their territory. Mennoté au siège... Le Canard Enchaîné had a political cartoon, instead of the stewardess showing how to buckle the seatbelt, she was holding up a set of handcuffs! I'm seriously more worried about incompetent officials during a flight than a hijacking. What if I have a textbook on computational electromagnetics or some other technical subject incomprehensible to them but related to my work? Or better, a book on quantum mechanics. They'd accuse me of planning to build nuclear weapons! I was detained and questioned, with my bags searched leaving France once - my company had rescheduled my flight to profit from my presence in Europe by sending me to Geneva to do some trouble shooting. Rescheduling my return flight to the US must have stirred the primal fear... this was before the 1995 round of terrorist bombings in France no less.

LOL! Actually H-Dood and I discussed this a few weeks ago. Since it is really difficult to tell a difference between an Arab, a Pakistani, an Afghan, an Indian, a Sri Lankan and the rest from the region, to hell with political correctness...all people of Asian origin be subject to cast iron shackles and straight jackets during flights.... H-Dood was all game...but had a special requirment in lieu to the discomfort these people would endure......since their hands were otherwise occupied, knockout stewardesses to sit in their lap and feed them refreshments ! <g>
