I haven't found the patent application for TDI's GaN bulk process so it must've been before this year. I have mixed feelings on the idea of publishing the applications. It will give interested parties a chance to cite prior art and also no one will waste time on previously applied for ideas. However there is a big price that the patent granting process will become more "political". Well capitalized and/or unscrupulous companies would have a jump on killing the application or reverse engineering the idea. So far for the TDI buyout pool we've got: MOT GE TXN AXTI NOC I'll add UTCI and A. I suppose the Japanese crystal growers would be interested also. JF
