Israel isn't leaving occupied territory as long as there is a thread to Israeli safety. Anybody who doesn't understand that is unrealistic.

There was a war (several wars, actually) and Israel won, and kept winning, and keeps winning.

If the violence doesn't stop, the occupation doesn't stop.

Gee, when will the U.S. pressure the Palestinians to accept this part of resolution 242:

Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force.
