The Israelis are any easier? Yes, they already offered 98% of the territories at Taba. Arafat said no without even making a counter proposal, remember? He started a war instead. Moreover, a poll printed in Maariv yesterday found that 61% still are in favor of Palestinian state, even after a year of intifada. The Israelis are still willing to deal. But there is no one to deal with. Arafat would only establish a terrorist state. This was his choice previously, but now he's too weak to have a choice about it.
