No, I think you misunderstand the point i was making.

It may well be the other way round Condor, it may be that the Americans have adopted the multiculturalism from Canada. That was not my point. What I really meant was that as people, and forgetting about political leanings and ideologies, as people Canadians were more like Americans <or vice versa> whereas Australians are not.

The values Canadians share with Australians may be similar in every respect but this. I doubt their assimilating the immigrants policies are similar. There was simply too much heartache where the job rung was concerned, unless one was lucky enough to have a far minded boss...

I don't have fixed ideas and intolerances at all. Quite the contrary. I am willing to admit we may have gone there with high expectations vs someone else who didn't have any expectations at all.....it just didn't work out for us at all. I have always wondered how we could have been contenty living in Dubai and not in Australia, even though our values are totally not aligned to that of the ME region.

I simply related my experiences of living in various regions in the world. And by that, I'm actually relating THEIR tolerances and ideas rather than my own...

And it doesn't dismay me at all that Canadians like them...far from it. It makes me glad. Despite some obvious quirks, they're really a nice buncha people......its just a chemistry thingie. Most Asians countries <and people> do not know what to think of them....
