Thanks, Stang. Stream was not mentioned in the snip that I found on another board from Lightwave Magazine:

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR:

Three interesting developments this week: fiber in gas technology and fiber through the sewers. These may not be new concepts, but some of this week's announcements were certainly focused on options: how can we do it better and cheaper, with less destruction to the environment (what a bonus!)? A few companies are taking advantage of these options, namely Sempra Links, CityNet and Ca-botics. And of course there's always free space optics (which I personally dig, no pun intended), as demonstrated by last week's announcement from Terabeam.

Also check out our exclusive feature from PacketLight that discusses how carriers are coping with doing business in today's industry. "Metro networks: the future mode of operation" addresses how carriers are responding to the challenges in the metro and long haul.

So grab a cup of mojo...and get back to me with your thoughts.

Wishing you continued success,
Mardi Balgochian Scalise

I wonder how the techs troubleshoot when a rat chews through a cable and you have to dig through a street and crack open a sewer pipe in order to get to your foul smelling fiber.
