I think the deflationary forces at work here are powerful, and we will see a decrease rather than an increase in inflation over the next year or so. We may even see a negative CPI. The upward blip in inflation in the last few months was caused by the tripling of energy and the tightness in the labor force. Both of these factors have now disappeared, and the previous deflationary trend will resume with a vengeance. Both the ECRI leading Index and the CRB index are signaling this.

George - how can one profit from this now?
I keep asking this question but do not see any answers I like.

Is there a bet against interest rates or against long term bonds other than on an individual bond basis that one can make?
