Once again, low XP expectations can only help MSFT the stock. Here's a specific prediction about an "upside surprise" that few expect: Windows XP Professional will sell a lot better than expected into the consumer market. It will be a "prestige item", the "mocha double latte" to the common PC buyer's "coffee". Watch for the ad campaigns touting the advantages of "Going Pro". I've no doubt many here will foam at the mouth about this, but this is the essence of real consumer marketing, and we're about to be treated to a virtuoso marketing performance over the next few months.
