actually I've been very interested to see if an acceptable protocol can be picked up by the group which will stabilize the board without my supervision.

A good idea, Ken, but the only place on SI I've seen it managed is on the G&K thread. That seems to me has appeared as a sizeable number of posters have come to feel some ownership of the thread.

If it happens here, it might take some time. It also calls for several of us to at least comment when the level of contention bothers us.

John

Right.

I tend to hang out on threads which are friendly and where people NEVER insult each other and the threads are always unmoderated. So when I say I laughed at Ike's comment, it really means I laughed. Nothing less, nothing more. There is no intent to insult anyone. Maybe I should post the pm I sent to the guy who really was very insulting to me...and maybe that could give people an idea what my culture teaches me about not insulting others...

But thanks for the nudge ken......I guess its never too late too learn...

actually I've been very interested to see if an acceptable protocol can be picked up by the group which will stabilize the board without my supervision. SI is an unruly place and people end bring their habits here fairly automatically.

You expect this thread to be more civil than the U.N., and the U.S. Congress, and the English Parliament?<g>
