Actually, I think part of the airline "help" from the government is that the govt will cover, at least, a large part of the liability. Airport security is a complicated issue and fundamental change is needed. A fed system, at first glance, looks like the answer but the more I think about it, the more I wonder. Right now, we're looking at two different problems - 1. hi-jacking or blowing up planes and 2. hi-jacking and using planes as weapons. The number two problem can be fixed fairly simply and cheaply. The number one problem may be minimized but probably can't be fixed for any amount of money. We probably need another damn commission before we break the piggy bank.
