We certainly shouldn't expect to see a match of the '98 Nazdaq bubble- EVER. <g> That was a generational event, and the bear that has followed should prevent a repeat.

Another thing to compare on the charts is Volume. The '98 bottom saw a huge volume move off the bottom, then a rather constant stream as the market kept moving up.

Although we saw some pretty good volume off the september '01 bottom, it was much lower than the selling volume preceding it. Volume has been tapering off since, with the recent negative days producing higher volumes than today. If volume indeed precedes price, we should soon see an end to this rally.

Looks like Wall St. and the Fed are trying for a repeat of '98-99, but I don't think lightning will strike twice in the same spot. <g>
