Get off your trust bandwagon, it's all politics, self-interest and the maintenance of power. Honour means dick, it's all got to do with who wields the biggest stick. Perhaps you should read The Prince, by Machiavelli, it would give you an insight into "appearance" and what the reality for people in power is. And of course, you make no sense, why would the world revile the United States if the people in Iraq were not now starving and they had a representative government with a free press.
