A little aside on firemen's unions. The Normal, Illinois firemen unionized back in the 80's, the leaders called for a strike and they did. Now firemen striking is a felony offense in Illinois and they were arrested, tried and convicted. Since the strike ended during the trial the judge went with probation and the problem was solved. Or maybe not. Many of the firemen were into class 2 weapons. The kind you need to renew a $200 permit for every year. Rock and roll guns. Some sharp eyed guy with the BATF noticed the felony convictions on the class 2 gun owners and moved in to nail each and every one of them on federal gun charges. Luckily, the judge was a nice guy and a gun owner and overturned the convictions before the federal trial.
