Ted, Clinton was impeached. The process is impeachment in the house and then a trail by the senate. He was impeached but not convicted. Sort of like being indited but not convicted.

The Reps. wanted to impeach him in the worst way......but no, they failed in their little endeavor

Actually, you're wrong. The Republicans DID impeach him. Like I said (as did numerous others), he was impeached.

I know it is tough to admit that your sorry leader was impeached. But saying he wasn't just doesn't make it so. Forever, when the history books list all the presidents, there is going to be an asterisk beside "Clinton", and at the bottom of the page:

*Impeached.

It's great. But it won't say:

*Impeached by the Republicans but acquitted by the Democrats.

ted : Re: Impeachment

Can I butt in here for just a moment? Clinton was, in fact, impeached. In this context, "impeachment" has the same context as indictment. He was, of course, acquitted by the Senate. But for the sake of accuracy, he was, indeed, impeached.

Impeachment requires a majority vote of the House. Removal requires 2/3 vote of the Senate.
