Perhaps what we should be most ticked off about is that the media gives equal airtime to extremists, goads them on, evokes sympathy, and encourages bursts of outrage because it looks good on tv and helps ratings

So true, however it seems to be the price we pay for free enterprise.

Exactly! And, if it helps ratings, advertisers smile, and everyone makes money.
