I had been putting together a bunch of research on postal disruptions and the effect on the economy, and accidentally closed all my browser windows and lost the work.

I was unable to find any economic statistics that resulted from the 1965 postal strike; found some stuff that might be representative from other countries; some mention of GDP impact of the UPS strike in 1997.

Pretty sure the bottom line is if they can find a way to contaminate those buildings, for even a few weeks, its a big impact.

Yeah, right, and I'm sure that in the other major postal facilities in the National Capital region -- Georgetown, Alexandria, etc, they would have been treated the same way -- no sweat, folks, anthrax can't be caught from unopened letters. We're going to be tested, get our offices cleaned, and take the next few days off, but we'll see you next week. Don't worry about being tested, you'll be fine!
