Want to clarify one thing. I brought the nuke subject up. It does not at all mean i am in favor of their use. But what happens if they successfully release anthrax in the NY subway and kill 100K? The real question at that point is what would the american people demand. In the cold war we would have to have responded in kind. Thats what deterrence is all about. Nuke mt. bin laden and perhaps some other crazies get deterred. That would be the argument anyway. As long as casualties are kept in single digits and the WTC attack is a one off attack and not repeated the american people remain very tolerant, surprisingly so.
So why is the market up. This is the first time in years that I am not sanguine about a recovery and it is the first time in years that the market shows strength. What an indicator i am. mike
