That is exactly what I mean by a stretch - it is hard to fit the waves in their classic form onto the rise from 1982 till 2000 with any credibility. But on a shorter run, within cycle - eg. within the 4 year cycle it could make sense.

Hello GZ,

Your point is right on and the bottom line. Prechter is the front man for EW but if I remember correctly Don's made it clear he doesn't think much of the man or his interpretation.

Just received the current issue of TAofS&C and the monthly interview is a couple of Prechter's people on EW.

They make a good pitch. But -- not enough for me to expend the energy, time etc to work at it thru the endless books, seminars, notes, study pages for the slow witted etc etc that the Prechter machine puts out.

I did just order John Hills new book and it's purported to boil down EV to a minimum useful tidbit. We'll see.
